Theory Training
Although you can start your driving lessons as soon as your Provisional
Licence becomes valid, you cannot however book the Practical Driving Test until
you have passed the Theory Test.
The Theory Test is split into Two parts:-
Multiple choice questions and a Hazard Perception Video section.
Part 1 MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS
This part consists of 50 questions with a list of potential answers. You select
your answers by touching the computer screen. To pass, you need 43 correct
answers.
Before your test begins, you have 15 minutes to look at some practise questions.
The test lasts for 57 minutes.
Part 2 HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST
This will begin with a short tutorial explaining how this test works and what
you need to do. The test will then start and you will be shown 14 video clips
each one approximately one minute in length.
In order to pass this test, you need to identify all hazards seen, including the
15 scoreable hazards. Each clip will contain one scoreable hazard, one clip
contains two. There will be no sound and this section will last around 20
minutes.
